New NCSP Member Saves Life
The June 21st issue of the River Reporter ran a story on Dick Rhode's legacy and highlights Erika Poston, who on her first day of service with the National Canoe Safety Patrol is credited with saving the life of Danilo Carvajal. Mr. Carvajal was not wearing a life jacket when he fell into the river on May 26th. Erika, who had just completed her training with the National Canoe Safety Patrol, reacted immediately and paddled over to Mr Carvajal and towed him with her boat to safety. Most of the drownings on the Delaware River are swimming related and easily prevented by wearing a life jacket. For more information visit riverreporter.com
