Life Jacket Study

DEWA and UPDE units of the NPS are going to do a Life Jacket Observation study this summer. They would like NCSP to assist with this study as well. There will be training for this on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th (the same weekend as May's Skill Drills). The NCSP has been asked to select two or three people who would like to learn how to perform the observations. They in turn could train other NCSP members how to collect the
observations.

The Life Jacket study training will take place at Grey Towers NHL in Milford from 8:30am - 5:00pm on Friday, May 18th and 19th with a field study portion on Saturday. The plan is for whoever attends this training to ensure that the rest of NCSP has an understanding of what data is to be collected for this study. Ingrid will also be attending the training as well
for greater clarification of what the study is about and again what field observation data is needed. Ingrid will also assist with the “downstream” training at Saturday and Sunday NCSP sign-ins during the course of the study. We can also touch on it at the monthly Skill Drills as needed.
